In short
Which Jotform alternative should you switch to?
Pick by the job your Jotform form does. For surveys, payments, or long intake forms with signatures, choose another form builder made for that job, or stay on Jotform. For qualifying website inquiries, Qualiform asks visitors in a short conversation and scores each lead in code against your own rules.

Choosing a Jotform alternative means matching a new tool to the one job your form does. Jotform's own help center names several jobs it is for, including generating leads, distributing surveys, and collecting payments. So people leave it for very different reasons. This page groups the choice by job: surveys, payments, intake, and qualifying leads.
Qualiform makes this page. It competes in only one of those four jobs: qualifying leads. Facts about Jotform come from Jotform's own pages, read on October 30, 2026, unless a line gives another date. Check them on Jotform's site before you rely on them.
Who is this for?
This page is for a small service business with one or more Jotform forms on its website. That might be a design studio, a contractor, a venue, or a consultant. You might be hitting a limit, or you might find that every inquiry arrives looking the same.
Before you compare tools, write down what each of your forms is for. A business with three forms often has three different jobs. One tool may not be right for all of them.
If you are leaving Typeform rather than Jotform, read the guide to Typeform alternatives instead. If you have not yet decided what makes a good inquiry, start with the guide to qualifying leads from your contact form. A tool cannot ask about a rule you have not written down.
What jobs does a Jotform form do?
Find the row for each form you run. The right alternative is in the last column.
| Job | What the form must do well | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Surveys | Ask everyone the same questions, in the same words, and count the results | A survey tool or a general form builder |
| Payments | Take money safely, with the payment methods your buyers already use | A form builder with payment connections, or stay on Jotform |
| Intake | Collect long, fixed details, files, or signatures from a client who already said yes | A form builder with pages, uploads, and signatures, or stay on Jotform |
| Lead qualification | Learn what each new inquiry needs, score it, and send it to a next step | A form builder with scoring you set up, or a conversational form such as Qualiform |
A business may end up with two tools. That is fine. Keeping Jotform for a payment form and changing only the contact form is a common result.
What does Jotform already do for each job?
Before you move, check what you would give up. This table lists what Jotform's own pages say, by job.
| Job | What Jotform's own pages say |
|---|---|
| Surveys | More than 20,000 premade form templates. Conversational forms that ask one question per page. Form analytics, a visual report builder, and export to CSV, Excel, and PDF. |
| Payments | More than 40 payment gateway connections, for subscriptions, ACH, eCheck, and coupons. Jotform says its payment forms are PCI compliant. |
| Intake | E-signatures, which Jotform says are legally binding. Save and continue later. Conditional logic that shows or hides fields. A free mobile app that collects data offline. |
| Lead qualification | Conditional logic that can send emails to certain people and show different thank-you messages. A CRM sync that sends new leads to tools such as HubSpot and Salesforce. |
What does Jotform cost?
Jotform's plans are Starter (free), Bronze, Silver, and Gold, plus Enterprise with custom pricing. These prices and limits come from Jotform's pricing page, read on November 2, 2026. The annual price is per month, billed once a year.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Forms | Submissions a month | AI chat tools | AI chat conversations a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Free | 5 active | 100 | 5 | 100 |
| Bronze | $39 a month | $34 a month | 25 | 1,000 | 25 | 1,000 |
| Silver | $49 a month | $39 a month | 50 | 2,500 | 50 | 2,500 |
| Gold | $129 a month | $99 a month | 100 | 10,000 | 100 | 10,000 |
Each plan has other limits too.
| Plan | Form views | Payment submissions | Upload space | Stored submissions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 10,000 | 10 a month | 100 MB | Not listed |
| Bronze | 100,000 | 100 | 1 GB | 10,000 |
| Silver | 1,000,000 | 250 | 10 GB | 25,000 |
| Gold | Not listed | 1,000 | 100 GB | 100,000 |
The same page also says:
- One user per plan. Every plan except Enterprise is for a single user. Enterprise is the only plan for more than one user. It adds unlimited limits, SSO, and dedicated support.
- Branding. Starter forms carry Jotform branding, and Starter allows 10 signed documents a month. Bronze removes the branding.
- HIPAA. HIPAA features are on Gold and Enterprise only.
- Stored submissions. If you go past your plan's stored submissions, Jotform deletes the oldest response to make room for new ones.
- AI chat conversations. Jotform counts both chat and phone conversations. Sessions, voice minutes, SMS, and knowledge-base characters each have their own limit. Voice minutes are shared between Voice Calls and Phone Calls. A dedicated US, UK, or Canada number is a paid add-on.
- Discounts. A promotional discount renews at full price in the next payment period. Nonprofits and education get 50% off Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and 30% off Enterprise.
- Trials and refunds. There is no free trial of the paid plans. You get a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of payment.
Read Jotform's limits too. Its help center lists monthly limits on submissions, form views, payment submissions, signed documents, and conversations with its AI chat tool. It says reaching any monthly limit prompts the system to disable your forms. On the free plan, only one email notification with one recipient can be used.
If Jotform does your job well and you only hit a limit, compare a higher Jotform plan with the work of moving.
What should a survey alternative do?
A survey needs every person to see the same question, worded the same way, in the same order. Otherwise you cannot add up the answers fairly.
Check these four things in any survey tool:
- Fixed wording. Every person reads the exact same question.
- Answers you can count. Choices, ratings, and scales you can total and chart.
- A clean export. Each answer lands in its own column in a spreadsheet.
- A limit that fits. Count how many replies you expect in a month, and compare that with the plan.
To test a tool, send your survey to two colleagues. Then open the export and check that you can read it without fixing anything by hand.
Qualiform is not a survey tool, so leave it off this list. For a look at form tools often used for surveys, see the guide to Typeform alternatives.
What should a payment form alternative do?
A payment form has one job: take the right amount from the right person, safely. Everything else comes second.
Check these four things before you move a payment form:
- Your payment provider. Jotform lists more than 40 payment gateway connections. Make sure the new tool connects to the one you already use.
- The kind of payment. One-time payments, subscriptions, and coupons work differently. Check each one you sell.
- Receipts. The buyer should get proof of payment without you sending it by hand.
- The monthly limit. Some plans count payment submissions on their own. Compare that with a busy month, not a quiet one.
Run one real payment of a small amount, such as $1, from start to finish. Then refund it. If either step is hard, the tool is wrong for you.
Qualiform's one job is qualifying and routing a new inquiry. It is not a form builder, so test any order or payment form you move with the four checks in this section. If you want to take payment at the moment a visitor books a meeting, read how to take payment when a visitor books from a form.
What should an intake form alternative do?
An intake form collects details from a client who has already said yes. It often asks for files, signatures, or many fixed fields before the work starts. That is a different job from screening a stranger who just found your site. The difference is explained in coaching intake vs pre-sales screening questions.
Check these things in an intake tool:
- Pages. A long form is easier in short sections.
- Save and come back. Clients may need a day to find a document.
- Uploads and signatures. Check the file size limit and how signed copies are stored.
- Rules for sensitive data. If you collect health information, read the tool's own pages on it. Jotform's pricing page says its HIPAA features are on the Gold and Enterprise plans only.
Qualiform is not built for HIPAA, so do not use it to collect health information. Each Qualiform form also has a limit on rounds of back and forth. A conversation is the wrong shape for dozens of fields that must all be filled in.
What should a lead qualification alternative do?
Qualifying a lead means deciding, before anyone replies, whether an inquiry fits the work you want. Hold any tool to these five checks:
- It learns the facts your rules use. Usually what the visitor needs, a budget, when they need it, and where the job is.
- It gets past vague answers. "Soon" and "not sure" are hard to score. A good tool asks for something clearer, or lets you act on the vague answer anyway.
- It scores the same way every time. The same answers should always get the same result, and you should see why.
- It sends each inquiry to a next step. A call, a time to book, a reply later, or a polite no.
- It is kind to the people who do not fit. They should still get a quick, polite answer.
On Jotform, scoring is something you set up. As of October 21, 2026, its help pages showed calculation values that put numbers on choice answers, a Form Calculation widget that adds them up, and conditions that show a different thank-you message when a score passes a number you pick. Jotform also listed a Lead Qualification Workflow Template and lead generation templates for its AI chat tool. Side-by-side pages for other tools are at Qualiform vs Jotform, Qualiform vs Tally, and Qualiform vs Fillout.
Jotform's plans also include conversations with its AI chat tool. Its pricing page, read on November 2, 2026, lists 1,000 a month on Bronze, which is $34 a month billed annually. Qualiform's Starter plan is $20 a month for 100 conversations. If the number of conversations is what matters most to you, Jotform includes more for the price. So compare the two on how each one scores an inquiry and what happens to it next.
How does Qualiform qualify an inquiry?
Qualiform replaces your contact form, not your site. Here is what happens to one inquiry, in order.
- The visitor types. They answer a short conversation instead of filling in boxes. The AI reads each reply, answers anything they asked, and then asks for one thing that is still missing.
- Answers are saved as they go. The lead is saved after every message. A visitor who leaves partway still leaves what they said.
- Code scores the lead. Your rules score it out of 100, in code. The AI never scores anyone. The same answers always get the same score, and every lead shows a line explaining its score. A question with no answer is left out, never counted as zero.
- The score picks a next step. The score puts the lead on one of five rules you set, such as Book the soonest time, Book any time, Say you'll be in touch, or Say they're not a fit. Times come from your own hours or your own scheduling link, such as a Calendly page. No time is offered until you save the form's Booking tab once.
- You hear about it. A lead email goes to the people you choose on the Routing tab. Slack and a webhook are also available.
Here is the scoring that the Design or web studio template starts with. It is the template's own setup, shown as an example.
| Question | How much it counts | Full credit | Partial credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | 30% | At or above your smallest project | A little under it. None under half of it. |
| Type of work | 25% | A new build or a redesign | Half for ongoing support |
| Timeline | 20% | Within 90 days | Half at three to six months |
| Decision authority | 15% | Never asked outright | Not knowing it never lowers the score |
| How concrete the visitor is | 10% | Scored on how clear their details are | Scored on how clear their details are |
In that template, a lead at 85 or up is Hot and is offered your soonest open times, when you book from your own hours. Warm starts at 70 and Cool at 55, and both can book any open time. Below 55 is Cold, and the AI says you'll be in touch. Say they're not a fit starts switched off.
To set it up, start from a template close to your business, such as Design or web studio or Home services and trades. Put it on your site with two lines of code where the contact form was, or share the form's own link. Use Preview to try it first. Preview runs a real conversation, is free, and saves and sends nothing.
Qualiform's Free plan costs $0 and includes 25 conversations a month and one live form. It stops at 25 until the next month, and "Powered by Qualiform" stays on the form. Starter is $20 a month for 100 conversations, Growth is $60 for 350, and Scale is $100 for 600. Every plan has every scoring and booking feature. On a paid plan with a card on file, each conversation past the included number is $0.30, up to twice the included number, or a lower limit you set. Growth and Scale can remove the Qualiform branding.
Where does Qualiform not fit?
Qualiform does one job. It is the wrong choice for these:
- Surveys, polls, and quizzes. It is not a survey tool.
- Order and signed forms. It is not a form builder.
- Health information. It is not built for HIPAA.
- Long applications. Each form has a limit on rounds of back and forth, so dozens of must-answer questions do not fit.
- Several forms for free. The Free plan keeps one live form.
- The most AI conversations for the money. Jotform's plans include more conversations a month for the price.
- Visitors who should not talk with an AI. Your notice must say that the conversation is with AI. If your clients would not be comfortable with that, use a plain form.
- A few inquiries a month. If you read and answer each one yourself within the hour, scoring adds setup without saving you time.
How do you choose?
Go through these in order, and stop at the first one that fits you.
- Your Jotform form works, and you only hit a limit. Compare a higher Jotform plan with the work of moving.
- The form is a survey. Pick a survey tool, and test its wording and export.
- The form takes payments or signatures. Pick a form builder that connects to your payment provider and handles signatures, or stay on Jotform.
- The form is intake for clients who already said yes. Pick a form builder with pages, uploads, and save and come back.
- The form is your contact form, and every inquiry looks the same. Write your rules down first. Then compare a form builder with scoring you set up against Qualiform. The contact form qualification questions help with the rules.
What are the common mistakes when leaving Jotform?
Most moves go wrong in the setup, not in the tool.
- Moving every form to one tool. A payment form and a contact form have different jobs. Pick per job.
- Copying every old question across. A question no rule uses is more work for the visitor and tells you nothing.
- Comparing prices from a roundup. Prices and limits change. Read each tool's own pricing page on the day you decide.
- Counting the wrong thing. Jotform's help center says each time someone loads a page with your form, that counts as one form view, on top of submissions. Qualiform counts a conversation when it starts, and a preview never counts. Compare what each tool counts against a busy month.
- Leaving the old form live. Check every page of your site for old embed code before you send visitors to the new form.
- Leaving the privacy policy as it was. Name the new tool, and say plainly if the conversation is with AI.
How do you know the switch is working?
Give it a few weeks of real inquiries. Then read each scored inquiry next to what happened to it: a call, a project, or nothing.
Run two checks. First, did the work you won score near the top? Second, did the people who were not a fit still get a quick, polite reply? If a lead you won scored low, one question or how much it counts is set wrong. In Qualiform, the line written on each lead shows which answers moved its score.
To learn how scores are built, read what lead scoring is. To set the next steps, see lead routing rules for a small service business.
Common questions
Is there a free Jotform alternative?
Free plans differ from tool to tool, and they change. Qualiform's Free plan costs $0 and keeps one live form with 25 conversations a month. Jotform's free plan is called Starter, and its forms carry Jotform branding. Read each tool's own pricing page on the day you decide.
Can you keep Jotform and add Qualiform?
Yes, if each tool does a different job. You can keep Jotform for a payment form or a signed form, and put Qualiform where your contact form was, with two lines of code. Qualiform's Free plan keeps one live form, so a second Qualiform form needs a paid plan.
How many questions should a lead qualification form ask?
Ask only what your rules use. Start with the few facts that decide a good inquiry, such as what they need, a budget, and a start date. Add a question only when a rule uses its answer. Each Qualiform form has a limit on rounds of back and forth, so a long list of must-answer questions does not suit it.
Should every Jotform user switch?
No. If a Jotform form takes payments, collects signatures, or runs a survey, and it works, keep it. Move only the form that does its job badly. For many service businesses that is the contact form, where every inquiry looks the same until someone reads it.
Do you need to change your privacy policy when you switch?
Probably. Your policy should name any tool that collects inquiries. Qualiform's terms require a business to say that it uses Qualiform to run the form and that the conversation is with AI.
Does Qualiform show visitors their score?
No. The AI never tells a visitor a score, a priority, or a reason, even when asked. The score and the line that explains it stay on the lead for you to read.
